Summertime Musings
Spending a few days on the beach can make you wonder about the overall health of America. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t believe that any of us needs to have that “perfect body” but a healthy body should be a mission and not something that seems a dream.
We so live in that world of fast food, easy access to tons of things that aren’t even close to good for us. Try to stop at a mini market type place and find something good. It’s there but you have to dig. Then it is still usually questionable.
With this access to bad foods and our fast moving society it becomes a bad receipe for an unhealthy lifestyle.
I feel it is best to offer a program that will think in terms of small steps and give a person a mutually agreed upon plan to start to make successful small changes in their eating habits. It is key to discuss these proposed changes in detail with the new member so that they have a buy in on the program.
One of the keys to our program is the two way accountibilty that is set up throughout the process to ensure that the success is theirs, but any failing is not the fault of the club but rather a miscalculation of the agreed upon step.
We need to make a change in people one at a time, so that next summer and every summer the bodies get heathlier and we become part of the change.
With passion,
Tom
